I've become hooked on the Hornblower TV series and I feel compelled to tell the world how brilliant a series it is and how amazing the lead, Ioan Gruffudd, is. David Warner is in the bit I'm watching now (the "Mutiny" series). He's his usual awesome self. :) I imagine this is what Gene Roddenberry had in his mind's eye when he created Star Trek (Kirk was based on Hornblower and Roddenberry was a serious fan of C.S. Forester). It's so true to the books and the general feel. I recommend it to anyone who likes drama and extremely fine acting. I believe it plays on A&E in the states.
